Our stateside team is based at AIFS headquarters in Stamford, Connecticut. We are a fun, enthusiastic group of professionals with rich backgrounds in summer camp and the field of cultural exchange.

Andrew Newberry
Senior Vice President

Andy joined our team in May 2008. Andy grew up going to a Boy Scout camp in Ohio, making it to Eagle Scout. From Ohio State University he went on to running the conference center at Camp Vacamas in New Jersey. Andy and his wife Elly, a former camp director and former program participant, travel often to Scotland with their daughter, Clare. Andy is a strong advocate for the cultural exchange experience and is well-versed in all facets of the Camp America program.

Allyson Schiano
Deputy Director

Allyson originally joined the team as an Account Representative in 2010 and became our Deputy Director in March 2022. She grew up attending summer camp in Northern Minnesota and her favorite camp meal is hands down, grilled cheese and tomato soup. Allyson and her husband live in Connecticut with their two girls, Emma and Abby. When she’s not running around chasing kids or cleaning up Barbie toys, she loves to cook and travel. She’s thrilled to be rejoining the team in this role!

Jenna Hasskarl
Senior Operations Coordinator

Jenna joined our team in February 2009. Jenna practically grew up at Camp Calumet in New Hampshire as a camper, counselor and dept. head. Among her many passions are travel, popculture, and spending times outdoors. Jenna and her husband Steve, a former program participant and Camp America employee from the UK office, welcomed twin girls, Sophie and Summer in April 2022.

Elizabeth Duffy
Client Development Manager

Elizabeth joined our team in November 2008. Elizabeth’s love of camp started in 1988 as a camper at Camp Timber Trails. Raised in Connecticut, she relocated to Georgia a few years ago, where most days she can be found with her horse, Smudge, enjoying lake life and missing good pizza. Aside from making quality camp experiences happen for our applicants, Elizabeth enjoys skiing, any excuse to get out on the water, and a good book.

Graeme Marshall
Director of Operations

Graeme joined our team in February 2012. From participant to head counselor and director at Forest Lake Camp to the world of staff placement, Graeme has a 360-degree view of the program. A native of Scotland, Graeme recently completed his M.S. in Camp Administration and enjoys quality family time with his son Findlay and wife Kim.

Julia Angelico
Account Representative

Julia joined the team in January 2022 and has worked in the client services industry for over 15 years. Born on the West Coast (WA) and raised on the East Coast (CT), her career has taken her to Austin, TX, and back working with 501(c)(3) companies and startups. In her spare time, she loves spending time with her husband Brian, and two kids Riley and Sawyer. Julia loves a good cup of tea, a good book by the beach, and traveling with her family and friends.

Kylie Baker
Account Representative

Kylie joined our team in October 2021 after 12 years working at an all-boys summer camp in NC. Kylie started her camp journey as a participant through Camp America in Australia and has been involved in all aspects of camp directorship over the years, including 10 years of international staffing experience. Now residing in Brevard, NC, she loves the beach, horse riding, exploring the Blue Ridge mountains, and adventuring with her husband Max (from London, England) and son Teddy. Kylie is a huge advocate for cultural exchange and loves helping connect camps with amazing international staff for life changing summers!

Kathy Fitzgerald
Senior Account Representative

Kathy joined our team in October 2017. Kathy began her camp career as a counselor at Camp Calumet and taught outdoor education programs throughout the east coast. After earning a M.S. in environmental education, Kathy returned to the camp world as the director at the Connecticut Science Center. Her hobbies include pop culture trivia and following UConn basketball, and spending time with her wife Caroline and dog Brie.

Conor Murray
Account Representative

Conor joined our team in March 2022. He began his camp journey as a participant in 2011 at Camp Stewart in the Texas Hill Country. From there, Conor headed south to start a new camp in South Texas; designing the overnight & day camp programs at Camp RIO from scratch. Growing up in Scotland, he’s a firm believer in the power of having international staff at summer camp. He and his wife Meghan (who he met at summer camp) are avid sports fans who love to spend spare time in the great outdoors with their dogs Felix and Jessie.

Amelie Milet
Operations Coordinator

After working on the Camp America Operations Team in a temporary capacity, Amelie officially joined the Camp America team in August 2022. Hailing from Westchester County, NY, Amelie grew up in a bilingual French-American household. She worked at several day and residential camps for five years and attended camp as a child. Amelie loves to travel and when she’s not working, you can find her either mapping out her next trip or buying way too many books at local independent bookstores.

Rachel Walker
Operations Coordinator

Rachel joined Camp America in March 2023, combining 11 years of experience in international education and student exchange with a love for camping and collaboration. Rachel is excited to work with the Trainee/Intern program, which connects camps with talented international professionals on J1 visas for up to 18 months. Rachel is based in Western North Carolina and can be found anywhere with live music or under a mountain of thrifted books. Her hobbies include cooking/baking, writing and art, and going hiking or camping with her dog, Willow.

AIFS UK coordinates the programmatic efforts of five AIFS offices abroad in terms of recruitment, screening, and application as well as interviewer training and oversight. Our program recruits in twenty countries worldwide.
